You Have 60 Seconds To Confirm Your Customer – Here’s How To Use Them

Did you know that 61% of internet users all over the world research products online and 44% of online shoppers start by using a search engine?

That’s a lot of people potentially looking for your product online. However, even if you have the best product or service in the world, if you have a so-so website, you’re not going to attract customers to visit your site long enough to buy any of your products or services.

Past studies show that the average web page visit lasts less than sixty seconds.Less than sixty seconds!? How do you make visitors stay, explore your site and finally, purchase your product when you’re only working with sixty seconds?

Here’s 5 things your website must have if it’s going to hold their attention. Don’t forget to double check these 9 things before you launch!

  • A well-crafted logo
Your logo is your brand. When people see your logo, they should easily associate it with your company.Go for a simple design. Avoid adding too much detail and consider adding a slogan (e.g. Coca-Cola’s “Open Happiness”), that will describe what you are offering your customers and what makes you different from your competitors.

You also need to consider how your logo will look on company letterheads, business cards and small promotional items.

  • A great website design
Let’s face it; anything beautiful, whether it’s a person, car or a house, will attract people’s attention. Even before you decide to hire a website design firm, you should check out other websites (related or not, to your business) and take note of what you like and don’t like about their designs. It seems straightforward but we all know how many ugly websites are out there! Attractive, impressive design will get your customer wanting to stay for longer.
  • Easy navigation
Don’t clog your website with so much information your customer can’t find what they’re looking for. What’s the one main thing customers want from your website? Put it on the front page. That’s right – put your products on the front page. Get them in front of your audience.

Additionally, most websites have these basic components:

    • Home page
This is the entry page that should give a short overview about your company and the products and services that you offer.
    • About Us
This page will give more detailed information about you and your company’s history.
    • Products and Services
Separate them into categories for easy navigation.
    • Contact Us
Make it easy to find! You want people to call you! Other sites have a contact form to make it easy for visitors to choose from different options listed, for their request.

Put your navigation links together at the top, bottom, right or left side of the page. Tables help keep to neatly align links. Minimize graphic buttons as this can slow down loading time.

  • Ensure that email is managed properly
You can check your email from your current software, like Microsoft Office. The Internet Service Provider (ISP) that you’re using can include a forwarding link. This will enable you to choose to keep another copy of the email on the server or you can have it instantly forwarded to you. By doing this, you won’t have to check several emails or manage multiple inboxes.
  • Update your website constantly
Websites can be updated instantly unlike printed marketing materials like flyers or brochures. Make sure you put in recent customer testimonials as this helps build trust. If you have a new product or service to offer, announce it on your site immediately. If you’ve had a trade show or if you’ve participated in other events within your community, make sure you include a brief write-up and post pictures on your site.

You’ve heard of the saying, “First impressions, last.” Make sure that your site will capture them in the first 60 seconds by getting Complete Cloud to design your website.
